While formal sparring only allows direct punches for hand attacks, there are a number of hand techniques used in different soolgi techniques, as well as during board breaking demonstrations.  The following hand techniques are some of the more common.

  • Meung-Cha-Chigi: Fist Strike
  • Yuk-Su-Chigi: Ridge Hand Strike
  • May-Gi-Mo: Bottom Fist Strike
  • E-Kwon: Back Fist
  • Kwan-Su-Chigi: Spear Hand Strike
  • Chun-Don-Chigi: Inside Middle Punch
  • Chun-Kwon: Fist Strike
  • Chang-Kwon: Palm Heel Strike
  • Pon-Won-Chigi: Tiger Mouth
  • Pak-I-Ti-Soni: Spinning Knife Hand Strike
  • Inji-Kwan: First Finger Knuckle Strike
  • Jinji-Kwan: Middle Finger Knuckle Strike
  • Son-don-Chigi: High Punch
  • Pahl-coop: Elbow Strike
  • Ani-Makki: Down Block
  • A-Pom-A-Makki: Inside Middle Block
